Russian advisers with Nationalist Chinese (KMT) military during 2nd Sino-Japanese War (WW2)
Passengers jam a train at an open air railway platform in China. Many sit, together with their belongings, on roof of the train. Some persons on the station offer to sell food to occupants of the train. Change of scene shows Soviet Lieutenant General Vasily Chuikov, advisor to Chinese Generalissimo Chiang Kai-Shek, having an amicable conversation with a Chinese Major General and his aide in World War II.(The latter has injury to his nose.) Next, several Russian troops are seen standing guard in unkempt town square, containing a monument. They appear unsettled by the presence of the cinematographer. Building in background flies Soviet flag and has large picture of Stalin on it. Views are shown of a modern building with drive up ramp to entrance (airport terminal?) and then of a stylish train station displaying Chinese (KMT) and Soviet flags and pictures of Lenin and Stalin. ( Glimpse of a tall white monument with a Soviet T-34 tank on top, followed by another view of the train station.) Next a corner building in the city is seen with Armed Chinese guards protecting sacks of food supplies piled up next to it. A Chinese officer walks past the guards and into the building. View of car and pedestrians on a dusty city street. More views of the Chinese guards and foodstuffs. (Note 1: The images seen here are mixed in place and time, including 1941 and 1945..) NATO Naval maneuvers involving forces from Turkey, Greece, Italy, Great Britain, and Canada, with U.S. Naval and air units, in the Mediterranean area. American Lieutenant General Paul Kendall, Commander of Allied Land Forces Southeastern Europe, and Admiral William Fechteler, USN, Commander in Chief, Allied Forces, Southern Europe, are seen with Turkish and Greek Commanders. They observe part of "Exercise Keystone," in which U.S. Marines make amphibious landings. U.S. marines (umpires, with white bands on their caps) hold up a large display showing disposition of naval forces engaged in the exercise. U.S. 7th Army units participate in NATO exercise in Germany
As part of the NATO forces, U.S. 7th Army tanks, troops, and artillery participate in "Exercise Cordon Bleu" with Central Army Group and 4th Tactical Air Force. One object of the exercise, among others, was to improve coordination of NATO forces of various types and nationalities. American M24 tanks move past a monitoring team parked at side of the road during the exercises in Germany. Another scene shows soldiers on motorcycles moving along a road and heavy armor following. A mortar team in the field. Infantry in defensive positions. A tank is guided into a firing position. Gunner on top of tank. Tank turret rotates. The name: "Austerlitz" painted on the turret. Tank commander looks through binoculars. Several NATO aircraft fly overhead and swoop low over water area. A tank rolls over a bridge, past Marshal Alphonse juin of France, Commander-in-Chief Allied Forces Central Europe, who is standing at side of road. Two F-80 jet fighters swoop low overhead. Tanks, amphibious DUKWs and troops advance inland. A helicopter evacuates the simulated wounded.

Opening scene shows a Navy anti-submarine warfare SH-3A helicopter, of ASM Squadron HS-11, from Carrier Anti-Submarine Air Group 52 (CVSG-52) on the Carrier USS Wasp (CVS-18). It is filmed from another nearby helicopter as it executes a "dippiing sonar" procedure during fleet maneuvers in the Caribbean Sea. .It is seen lowering an ASW tranducer, into the water by means of a cable. The helicopter remains in a hover throughout the sequence, with the sonor buoy deployed.
