Newspaper of March 14, 1923, announces the Lenin suffers a stroke. In January, 1924, a newspaper headline announces that "Lenin is dead." Lenin seen in coffin. Funeral cortege, including principal Soviet leaders, carries the coffin outdoors in falling snow. Spectators watch and others follow in the solemn funeral march. Narrator states that "Stalin,Zinoviev, and Kamenev force Trotsky into exile." Soviet citizens are seen at hard labor under new "Five year plans."

Another slate explains that under command of Lieutenant Colonel H.H. Arnold,ten B-12 bombers demonstrate their capabilities in an 18,000 mile flight. Lt. Col Henry H. Arnold uses pointer to show the routings to another officer who has joined him. The next sequence shows Arnold describing the flight plans to more participants, using more charts. Two recruits slip a fish down the shirt of a fellow recruit. A recruit (played by George Reeves - later "Superman") points to several Destroyers and mistakenly calls them Battleships. Another recruit points out a submarine. A commanding officer points out the view of North Island Naval Base, and the port and downtown area of San Diego. The recruits are fishing. An officer asks an enlisted man to pick up a blue tackle box and he picks up a yellow one instead.
