Women of Auxiliary Territorial Service, in World War II. Several are dressed in flight overalls, others are not. They enter gate of aviation training facility. They are shown an Aircraft Log Book (C.A. Form 27) in which one must record all information pertaining to the operating history of an airplane. A man shows the women access panel on side of an aircraft engine. The women (now all in coveralls) pick up and tow an aircraft backwards, by hand, to a spot on the lawn.
Abandoned industrial complex. Factories and warehouses. A Chinese soldier stands near sign reading: "U.N.R.R.A. It Is Belonged To Our Office. No Admittance To Anybody Or Armies To Enter." Damaged buildings in view. Several Americans pick their way through factory Interior which is littered with debris. and human remains. Two of them carry cameras. One, an American military photographer takes pictures. They also inspect huge parts of destroyed factory machinery. Two Americans discuss this and take notes. Pedestrians walk on a sidewalk. Many Chinese persons cook and eat in area containing wooden tables and chairs at edge of large open air marketplace. Food stalls and stalls of medicines in the area. A Nationalist Chinese flag flies from a small building in the area. A large group of Chinese children posing for the camera, with their teacher organizing them. Grownups are in the back of the group. U.S. Navy flyers at the Omura Air Field in Nagasaki, Japan after the end of World War 2. They poke around the wreckage of a U.S. Navy Corsair(FG-1D Corsair BuNo.88056 flown by Lt.Col. D.K. Yost of MAG-51, US Navy, lost on 11 September, 1945.) They are accompanied by a Sergeant, carrying a long handle axe that he jokingly swings a couple of times at the fuselage of the Corsair. Camera shows numerous Japanese military airplanes parked randomly on the grass field.
Safe use of nuclear weapons by the United States Air Force. A Sergeant (E4) technician works on a nuclear bomb as a Technical Sergeant (E6) supervisor looks on. A Quality Assurance Evaluator takes notes. The technician reacts angrily after dropping a T304C Continuity Tester and his supervisor corrects him. The technician is then questioned by a doctor to ensure his reliability for a nuclear program. Men around an aircraft as a trailer carries a nuclear bomb near the aircraft. The bomb being attached under the fuselage of the plane. Men work in groups using the two men concept to assure that no individual is ever in a position to arm, launch, or detonate a nuclear weapon.
