'The World Mourns' Funeral procession of President John F Kennedy moves down the Pennsylvania Avenue to the Capitol in Washington DC, United States. A casket carrying Kennedy's body pulled on a caisson to the Capitol. Former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy and President Lyndon Johnson arrive at the U.S. Capitol. Head of the presidential secret service team Jerry Behn helps Mrs. Kennedy from the car. President Johnson places a wreath at the casket to pay his last respects to the late President Kennedy. Jacqueline Kennedy comes forward and bows near the casket. Outside the Capitol people lined up in large numbers to pay their respects to President Kennedy. Funeral procession moves towards St Matthew's Cathedral (1725 Rhode Island Ave NW, Washington, DC 20036, United States). Mrs. Kennedy and President Johnson walks six blocks to the cathedral behind the caisson. Casket carried inside the cathedral where a prayer service is conducted. Charles de Gaulle is seen amongst the attending dignitaries. Ave Maria hymn sung as dignitaries from across the globe attend the service. After mass outside the cathedral, John Kennedy Jr. salutes the coffin containing his father's remains at the suggestion of his mother. Cortege proceeds to the Arlington National Cemetery. Soldiers hold the American flag over the casket and later flag handed over to Mrs. Kennedy. She lights up an eternal flame in the memory of President Kennedy.
