British Open Golf Tournament in St. Andrews, Scotland. Kel Nagle, Arnold Palmer, and Roberto De Vicenzo battle it out to win the British Open Golf Tournament. Torrential rains disrupt play for a while. Kel Nagle goes on to win the title after defeating Palmer and De Vicenzo. (This was the 100th Anniversary of the first British Open, but it was the 89th British Open contest. The gaps were due to suspensions during World Wars 1 and 2.)
' Allied control council for Germany ' shows the taking over of the control by the Allied powers in Germany. British Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery gets off a plane as he arrives in Germany. Montgomery being greeted by officers and he inspects an honor guard of Soviet troops. Commander in Chiefs of various Allied armies arrive at a building on June 5th, 1945. U.S. General Dwight D. Eisenhower, French Major General Jean de Lattre de Tassigny and the Soviet representative Georgy Zhukov arrive and enter the building. General Eisenhower, Field Marshal Montgomery, Zhukov and Major General Tassigny sign the documents of the partition of Germany. The Commander in Chiefs pose outside the building.
Herbert Hoover visits Argentina during his tenure as Secretary of Commerce. The secretary, later President Herbert Hoover, walks beside President Hipólito Yrigoyen, surrounded by other officials. A year later, visiting delegates from the Second Pan American Highway Congress are seen walking toward the entrance of the President's home to pay respects to President Yrigoyen.
