In the next shot, a steady line of German prisoners of war (POW) march toward the camera, many with hands behind their backs, captured by the First Special Service Force (FSSF, or sometimes referred to as SSF or "The Devil's Brigade") (elite joint American-Canadian commando unit) during their attack in Italy, World War II. FSSF soldiers march alongside the prisoners, holding rifles ready. A smaller group of prisoners, all with their hands on their heads, march past armed FSSF soldiers and a tank. In the next scene, FSSF soldiers march away from the camera, passing a knocked-out U.S. Army M4 Sherman tank. Later, a group of soldiers inspects three knocked-out Panzer IV tanks on the side of the road. Some soldiers are seen using shovels at the edge of the road.
