Yankees and Dodgers meet on the 50th anniversary of baseball's World Series. Fan holds up official series program. Fans pour into Yankee Stadium; man in Yankees jacket takes tickets. British Royal Navy Vampire aircraft makes arrested landing and then commences take off roll from the U.S. aircraft carrier Antietam (CV-36) during practice operations in 1953.
British Royal Navy de Havilland Vampire jet aircraft makes an arrested landing on the short angled deck of the American Aircraft Carrier, USS Antietam (CVA-36). Once the arresting gear is removed, a large group of sailors push on the wings of the aircraft to move it backwards into position for takeoff. The jet maneuvers slightly on the deck, then the pilot sets its engine to max power holding brakes and then releases them to begin a takeoff roll.

Unrest in Berlin, East Germany. A large crowd gathers to demonstrate against East German government. A banner carried by some demonstrators calls for free elections. Armed Stasi watch the demonstrators. Demonstrators burn banners and posters and damage public property. People stands on roofs of houses and watch the demonstrations. Armed East German police and some Soviet soldiers watch the demonstrators from their headquarters. Demonstrators tear up and burn signs and start a bonfire. East German Stasi reinforce the checkpoint between the Soviet and American sectors of Berlin. Early revolution in Cuba against Batista: The 153 attack on Moncada Barracks and the arrest and release of Fidel Castro in 1955.
26 July 1953: Cuban political leader Fidel Castro sends his men to the Moncada Barracks manned by the military garrison. His men are massacred and gunned down by the officers. The garrison Colonel Alberto, followed by his men. A crowd surrounds them. Officers with the uniforms of the killed revolutionaries who died in the 26th of July attempt, which becomes the rallying event for the revolution. An officer at a table while others stand around him as he is rewarded the General Star. Officials sign documents. The wounded from the barracks in a military hospital. Officers and officials attend the military honors ceremony for the dead officers and soldiers. Police keep a vigil and search cars on the streets. General Rafael Salas Canizares leads the hunt for conspirators and rebels. The General with other officers pose with the arms found during a search. Buildings bombed and wrecked by rebel saboteurs and guerrillas. Police Officers ocomb the island. Castro surrenders and is tried in 1953 along with his men. 1954: Other revolution fronts operating. A man signs a document surrounded by officials. Students demonstrate on the streets. A wounded on a litter and another on a hospital bed. 1955: Batista signs an appeasement and Castro, his brother Raul Castro, Melba Hernandez, Haydee Santamaria, and Castro's men are released. The brothers are greeted by their sister Lydia. Fidel Castro announces that he will leave the country to organize an invasion. People rejoice on the street.
