German naval forces bomb fortified port near Gdynia

After German forces captured the Polish city of Gdynia during World War II, fighting continues in the nearby fortified ports of Oksywie and Hel. The choppy waters of the Bay of Gdansk (Danzig) are shown off the side of a ship, followed by a large group of German sailors onboard moving around on deck. Smoke trails off the back of the ship, likely from a recently-fired gun. A ship is shown far away on the water flashing its light in the hazy conditions. On land, a group of German soldiers fire a World War I era 77mm Model M1896 cannon. Back on the water, a soldier and the camera look through a sighting periscope towards land. Smoke rises from the hillside in the distance across the harbor, and the sound of heavy artillery can be heard. From behind a wall, German soldiers fire a machine gun back out towards the port. Densely-populated hillside with thick smoke rising. More artillery is fired. A soldier fires from the shadows of a large structure. A ship, either the German Deutschland-class SMS Schleswig-Holstein or her sister ship the SMS Schlesien, is seen firing at the fortifications. One of the shots hits high on the hill in a densely populated area. A soldier with binoculars around his neck looks through the sighting periscope. Huge plumes of smoke rise from massive fires visible on the fort walls.

German tanks and infantry travel fast through Poland

Motorized German vehicles move quickly down a dirt road, continuing the invasion of Poland during World War II. The first vehicle shown is a light reconnaissance car, likely the Sd.Kfz 221 but potentially the 222. Another vehicle shown is the Sd.Kfz 263. Tanks and supply trucks drive on uneven roads, while soldiers on foot watch the progress. A vehicle drives through a small puddle or stream. A series of Panzer II tanks roll down a steep hill while soldiers in undershirts stand and sit to the side of the road. Many militarized vehicles are visible in a wide shot covering a bend in the road. A truck speeds past. Off the road, German soldiers look on and a cow is lead around. A massive line of German infantry marches in formation. A lone mounted cavalry soldier leads the line of troops, while military cars drive past. Close shots show the young soldiers' faces and their full uniforms. These proceedings are scored by triumphant music. The inside of a German airplane cockpit is briefly shown, looking past the heads of the pilots to the sky. German Luftwaffe crew look through documents on aircraft as they track positions of retreating Polish forces. A German soldier wearing headphones transmits a message using a radiotelegraphy machine.
