Green carrying books is seen entering and sitting down in the Michigan State library. In another scene, he enters sociological data into Hollerith punch cards for processing by computer. He walks in the university computer room where tape decks are seen spinning and computer operators are at work. One of the tapes mounted on a drive is labeled: "Ernest Green, Aspirations." Process by which pure copper obtained from smelted copper in a Baltimore refinery.
Copper impurities remained after smelting removed by melting and electrolysis. Tank room of electrolytic refinery plant at Baltimore. The anodes placed in empty tank. Thin sheets of pure copper, serving as cathodes inserted between the anodes. The tank then filled with a dilute solution of copper sulphate. An electric current flows from the anode, through the solution, to the cathode on which pure copper is deposited. After removing the cathodes from remnants of anodes a sludge, into which the gold, silver and platinum has fallen, flushed out of the tank. Sludge melted by a worker into a bullion bar. The copper cathodes melted.

(Note: The mission of the Trout was to deliver anti-aircraft ammunition to the U.S. forces defending Corregidor. Fenno's sub was called on to deliver the ammunition because surface ships and aircraft were unable to penetrate the tight Japanese defenses. The mission was classified as "top secret." The USS Trout delivered the munitions and then brought back more than 6 tons of Philippine gold and 630 bags of silver, as ballast. Commander Fenno was awarded the Navy Cross and the Distinguished Service Cross, by the United States Army, and the officers and enlisted men of the Trout each received the Silver Star for successfully completing this unusual and dangerous mission. The USS Trout received a Presidential Unit Citation.)
