The President, while addressing a conference, speaks about the food and drug laws of the country, and references issues with the drug Thalidomide. He informs about the decision to increase the staffing at the food and drug administration (FDA). He also talks about a bill that has been introduced in the Congress to allow rapid removal of drugs from the market that prove hazardous to public health and should potentially be illegal.
