Guests are U.S. Senator Jim Sasser from Tennessee and Arnold L Raphel, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of Near Eastern and South Asian Affairs. Arnold L Raphel states that Afghanis will negotiate only after the Soviet troops withdraw and Afghan Refugees return to Afghanistan. He further says that the 1980 Hostage Rescue Mission was not to put pressure on Afghanistan.
