Nine Japanese Mitsubishi A6M "Zero" planes, in triangle formation, fly over the Japanese battleship, Nagato. Japanese officers seen on the bridge, including Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto, who is seen using binoculars. His Admiral's flag flies above the Japanese Naval Ensign on the mast of the battleship. Ship's Officers assembled on the bridge, review charts. Several officers on deck using instruments to determine sun elevation. Sailor sends blinker light signal. Another sends semaphore flag signals. A Japanese submarine is seen moving on the surface parallel to the course of the battleship. Japanese sailors at various lookouts using binoculars. A bugler blows call to battle stations. The cadets halt, do a left turn and open ranks. Several cadet graduates are given their wings and commissions. USAAF superior officers congratulate the cadets and present the wings. They are seen climbing walls. running up platforms, jumping and catching hold of ropes, and facing similar kinds of physical challenges on an extensive obstacle course. In opening scene, hundreds of Army Aviation Cadet candidates are seen running in formations.This consumes most of the film. Next, they are seen lined up outside their quarters and practicing Judo throws, in pairs. Later, some run on a track around the field as others gather in the center of the field and play football.
