Congressman Everett Dirksen of Illinois, Chicago and U.S. Commander, John S Young arrive at camp Mettelbau-Dora (Nazi concentration camp) in Nordhausen, Germany. Dirksen and Young conduct a tour of the prison camp accompanied by U.S. Army officers. The visitors interview a released camp prisoner and visit German V-weapon ( V1s and V2s) manufacturing factories (Mittelwerk factory at Kohnstein).
The opening ceremony of the Victory Railroad Bridge on Rhine river in Duisburg, Germany. U.S. soldiers of the 332nd Engineer Regiment stand in columns beneath the bridge. A flight of U.S. B-26 bombers passes overhead as trains loaded with U.S. troops cross the newly constructed bridge. U.S. Army Generals include Major General Leonard T Gerow, Major General Cecil R Moore, Brigadier General Clarence R Burpee, Brigadier General Ewart G Plank and Brigadier General Carl R Gray are present at the ceremony. The Generals deliver their speeches to the troops from a raised platform. Soldiers of the 332nd Engineer Regiment receive medallions. The customs towers of the old Rheinhausen -Duisburg bridge can be seen still standing on the opposite bank. (World War II period).

Troops gather at the waters edge. Soldiers string a line across the river and hold it from both sides. A Brockway Bridge Truck with a special crane is seen hoisting the treadway bridge piece off the truck. Views of the troops observing the hills in the distance through binoculars and watching for enemy activity. (World War II period).

U.S. Army forces inspecting the retreat, including General Omar Bradley and Major General Maxwell D. Taylor. A board reads ' Hitler's Home'. U.S. troops look out at the Bavarian Alps.
Two weeks after its capture by the U.S.3rd Infantry Division, 7th Infantry Regiment, at the end of World war 2, in Europe, U.S. soldiers explore Obersalzberg air raid shelter tunnels connecting Hotel zum Turken and Hitler's residence at the Berghof, Berchtesgaden, Bavaria, Germany. U.S. Army soldier browses through Adolf Hitler's sacked offices and musical recording collection. Major General Maxwell Taylor, Commanding General, 101st Airborne Division, is seen descending a long stairway into the tunnel complex that was one of Hitler's bunkers.
