Most are seated on the ground. Several relaxed French officers stand in the compound. A cook circulates amongst the seated prisoners.

Scene changes to King Nicholas with advisers strolling behind the royal palace in Cetinje. Scene shifts to a crowded operating theater in a hospital, with surgical team operating on a patient. Slate alludes to transport and care of wounded following battle with Turkish forces at Scutari. Montenegrin wounded being carried on stretchers along mountainous roadway and up steep steps to an emergency field medical treatment center. Some medical staff in white, stand near the ramp. Later, several wounded are carried back down the steps to waiting trucks for transport to hospitals.
