British Admiral, John Cronyn Tovey, arrives in a closed launch,manned by sailors, and is piped aboard a battleship off the coast of England. He is greeted, on board, by Admiral of the Fleet, Sir Charles Forbes. After shaking hands with the ship's officers, Admiral Forbes descends the ship's ladder and enters his launch, which is seen heading back to shore. Admiral Tovey and officers of the ship's company pose for pictures. The Union Jack is replaced by a White Ensign on ship's mast, in preparation for getting underway.
