Tunisians joyfully greet Salah Ben Youssef, upon his return from exile.

After three years of exile, Salah Ben Youssef, Secretary General of the Néo-Destour, returns to Tunis. Views of huge crowds at the Tunis Carthage airport. Salah Ben Youssef is seen, wearing sun glasses, and a fez as he slowly descends aircraft ladder from TWA Lockheed Constellation aircraft in which he arrived. The ladder is jammed by well wishers. He is greeted by members of the government and leaders of the Néo-Destour, including Habib Bourguiba. He finally manages to enter an open car and is escorted by motorcycles along Tunis city streets. His automobile, a 1949 Buick Roadmaster convertible, is overflowing with other passengers. His motorcade proceeds to Carthage Palace where he meets Lamine Bey.
