U.S. aircraft carrier recovering F6F aircraft while underway in the Pacific Ocean during World War II. Several aircraft make uneventful landings. However, one apparently radioed about a problem . As his aircraft comes to a stop, tip of the right wing appears to fall off the aircraft. It slides down over the wing flap to the deck. A firefighter in protective gear, climbs one the aircraft wing and speaks with the pilot, who is sitting, calmly , in the cockpit filling out a report.
