They are assembled on the Capitol steps to pose for pictures. Several of the young men shake hands with a welcoming official. Cut to close of of VW166 Schwimwagen, driver smoking cigar, officer looks at map. Cut to Tiger 222 stopped outside Ligneuville. Paratroopers on rear deck share cigarettes with motorcyclist. They are armed with K98, MP44, British Sten gun, MG42. Cut to Gustav Knittel looking at map, they look around as U.S. aircraft fly overhead. Cut to Sdkfz 7 with 2cm gun on road, Kubelwagen passes destroyed U.S. 76mm AT gun.

Romanians commence cleanup after attacks by U.S. 15th Air Force bombers in Ploesti (Ploiesti) during World War 2. Workers shovel building debris from rails in front of a train station. A locomotive pulls a train into a platform on which the entire roof has been destroyed. A group of Romanian workers carrying shovels and other implements, walks along a section of track past destroyed structures.They work to straighten rails and remove portions of buildings and other debris from the tracks. One uses a cutting torch to release a huge piece of reinforced concrete, which is then raised up by a crane. Workers are busy all over the area in the cleanup activities. Several men inspect damage to a locomotive.
