A U.S. Army Air Force pilot shoots down a B-24 after its crew bails out over the Philippines in World War II

Gun camera footage aboard the P-38 Lightning aircraft of Lieutenant Fritsch, 44th Fighter Squadron, U.S. 13th Air Force, shows another P-38 from his squadron in flight ahead of him. The scene then shifts to view from his P-38 camera of a U.S. Army Air Forces B-24 Liberator bomber in distress. The bomber crew bails out. Several of their parachutes are seen opening. Lt. Fritsch then proceeds to fire on the abandoned B-24. Tracers can be seen as Lt. Fritsch fires at the bomber.. Then smoke is seen rising from water where the bomber crashed.

A British Navy training program demonstrates methods to deal with an enemy bearing a knife and the use of a helmet as a shield.

During a training program the sailors of the British Navy are taught three defense methods against an attacker armed with a knife. Two sailors demonstrate the methods. A navy officer and other sailors observe. The sailor who poses as the opponent moves forward with a knife in his right hand. The second sailor brings his left arm forward to protect himself. In the second case the opponent moves forward again passing the knife from one hand to another. The sailor removes his helmet and uses it as a shield. To demonstrate the third way, the opponent again approaches with the knife raised in his hand. The sailor uses the edge of his arm to protect himself and delivers a chin jab. (World War II period).
