U.S. President Richard Nixon delivers his resignation speech from his office in the White House, Washington DC. Before the speech, shows White House aides making camera and lighting arrangements in the office while sitting at the President's desk. President Nixon arrives, takes his seat and talks to the aides and camera persons casually since the broadcast has not begun. Images of the White House at night while Nixon speaks casually in the background to the different network representatives. President and others discuss unofficially before starting the speech, including line "I'm afraid you'll catch me picking my nose." He gives a start to the speech so audio technicians can monitor sound levels. He calls to Ollie and says "Only the CBS crew will be in the room during the broadcast." He indicates that there will be no pictures taken after the broadcast. He instructs secret servicemen, members of coverage team and some others to leave the room.
