A U.S. Navy band swing ensemble practices at an auditorium in the U.S. Great Lakes Naval Training Center during World War 2. Sailors and family members stroll out of a building together. Scene shifts to a football stadium, filled with sailors watching a game. A large formation of sailors in white uniforms march to a large chapel. Inside, a choir of sailors leads the congregation in the hymn, "Onward Christian Soldiers." Glimpse of a large formation of trained recruits, followed by view of one standing alone, casting shadow on otherwise empty parade grounds. Successive groups of recruits are added until an entire regiment is seen. Two Naval officers, in blues, walk past a formation of graduating recruits. A Petty Officer Third Class band master leads a military band that marches ahead of a color guard bearing the American flag and that of the Great Lakes Naval Training Center. They are followed by contingents of graduating recruits identified by their training unit flags. Scene shifts to several U.S. battleships underway at sea in formation. They fire their heavy guns.

Army Air Forces records describe this as flight tests conducted at Wright Field on a Japanese Mitsubishi Type 0 MK2-SSF Hamp fighter plane, Army Air Forces (AAF) No. EB-201. (Recognized later, as a variant of the Zero, these Mitsubishi A6M3 Type 32 planes were renamed "Zeke 32.") Flight tests were made from January 9th to March 10th, 1944, to compare this aircraft with AAF fighters and to verify tests made in Australia by the Special Duties and Performance Flight of T.S.-7, Directorate of Technical Services, Melbourne. Test pilot in the cockpit with engine running. Closeup of pilot (possibly Captain Ralph C. Hoewing, who became first Commandant of the AAF Test Pilot School). He takes off from the airfield. and is seen in flight. Various aerial views of the Zero are seen including: flying overhead and from above as it flies over Ohio farmland. The pilot enters a shallow climb; and is seen from above and behind. He performs a slow descending roll. Finally, he buzzes the airfield at low altitude and high speed, and then brings the aircraft in for a smooth landing. (Note: This aircraft was rebuilt by the Allied Technical Air Intelligence Unit in Hangar 7 at Eagle Farm Airfield, Brisbane, Australia, from the wrecks of five Mitsubishi A6M3 Type 32 Zeke's captured at Buna, New Guinea, during the war.) Discussion of the first B-17 raid in the European theater (on Rouen, France) during World War II. Major General Carl Spaatz, Commander of the U.S. 8th Air Force, comments about this first such use of American heavy bombers against German targets in World War 2. He notes that this raid was led by Brigadier Ira Eaker, head of U.S. Bomber Command. He invites Eaker to comment on the raid. General Eaker reports that pilots maintained good formations and gunners caused German fighters to back away. He states that the main targets during the air raid were marshalling yards and a Locomotive repair facility. An intelligence officer debriefs two members of a flight crew, following a mission. They answer questions. One of the crew members points out their target on a map, and reports success at hitting their targets..
