American actress Shirley Booth comes forward and welcomes the Russian woman to the Club. Booth reads a welcome message that is partly in Russian. The Russian woman says that she knows Ms. Booth from her role on the radio as Miss Duffy in the show Duffys Tavern. The Russian woman describes her duties in the Russian Merchant Marines. She answers questions from Shirley Booth and describes her training and motivation in fighting the war.
Strange flying scooters and automobiles go through their paces at Princeton in New Jersey. The hover craft automobiles are developed for the U.S. Army. Men seated at controls of the automobiles, seen in flight along only a few inches of the ground. The automobiles poised on drafts of air from huge fans.
Gompers Square in Washington DC dedicated to the father of the American Federation of Labor (AFL) Samuel Gompers. The dedication ceremony officiated by President Truman and William Green, now head of the AFL. A huge crowd gathers.
