Early revolution in Cuba against Batista: The 153 attack on Moncada Barracks and the arrest and release of Fidel Castro in 1955.
26 July 1953: Cuban political leader Fidel Castro sends his men to the Moncada Barracks manned by the military garrison. His men are massacred and gunned down by the officers. The garrison Colonel Alberto, followed by his men. A crowd surrounds them. Officers with the uniforms of the killed revolutionaries who died in the 26th of July attempt, which becomes the rallying event for the revolution. An officer at a table while others stand around him as he is rewarded the General Star. Officials sign documents. The wounded from the barracks in a military hospital. Officers and officials attend the military honors ceremony for the dead officers and soldiers. Police keep a vigil and search cars on the streets. General Rafael Salas Canizares leads the hunt for conspirators and rebels. The General with other officers pose with the arms found during a search. Buildings bombed and wrecked by rebel saboteurs and guerrillas. Police Officers ocomb the island. Castro surrenders and is tried in 1953 along with his men. 1954: Other revolution fronts operating. A man signs a document surrounded by officials. Students demonstrate on the streets. A wounded on a litter and another on a hospital bed. 1955: Batista signs an appeasement and Castro, his brother Raul Castro, Melba Hernandez, Haydee Santamaria, and Castro's men are released. The brothers are greeted by their sister Lydia. Fidel Castro announces that he will leave the country to organize an invasion. People rejoice on the street.

A U.S. Army Sergeant at a blackboard explains the concept of moments in mathematical terms to a classroom of soldiers. Next, soldiers are seen in a shop equipped with electronic equipment. An oficer watches as a soldier removes a motherboard from a bank of early computers. As the officer refers to a wiring diagram, the soldier checks the board. Scene changes to outdoors where several infantrymen are seen running alongside an M4A3E8 76 mm armed Sherman tank, as it climbs up from a ravine and moves forward. Next, two views of a Flame Thrower Tank M67 are seen as it fires a jet of flaming fluid. Field artillery pieces and tank guns and machine guns fire and destroy various targets on a field. A soldier presses plunger to remotely launch a tactical rocket. More views of tactical rockets being fired. A mushroom cloud created by the explosion of a tactical nuclear weapon. President John F Kennedy welcomed by people in Latin America.
To promote better relations with Latin America through his "Alliance For Progress," President and Mrs. Kennedy visited Puerto Rico, Mexico, Venezuela and Colombia. Starting at Puerto Rico,on December 15, 1961, a sign is seen bearing the President's image and reading 'Welcome" in Spanich. Next in a motorcade through a crowded street, a man stands in an open car throwing confetti, while President John F. Kennedy (JFK) follows in another open car, accompanied by Governor Munoz Marin of Puerto Rico. In change of scene (and country) on December 16th, JFK stands at a microphone in Venezuela, next to an interpreter making notes. He introduces his wife, as a Kennedy who doesn't need an interpreter, and asks her to say a few words. Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy leaves her seat next to President Romulo Betancourt, and steps to the microphone, where she briefly addresses the gathering in Spanish. (Mrs. Betancourt occupies the seat next to JFK's empty one.) After Mrs. Kennedy's brief remarks, those in the gathering applaud, and President Kennedy appears delighted.
