Sequence shifts to the track where Don Bowden, of California, is running well ahead of favored Ron Delany, of Villanova, to win the 800 meter run in 1 minute and 47.2 seconds. (Note: Delany won the 1500 meter run in 4 minutes 6 and a half minutes.) The next day, on June 15, 1957, Bob Gutowski, of Occidental College,California, is seen breaking the World record in the pole vault at a height of 15 feet 9 3/4 inches. Cuban rebel leader Fidel Castro arrives in Venezuela. He is greeted as he disembarks from the aircraft. An enormous crowd gathered to welcome him as the Cuban liberator. He greets the people from an open jeep. A large crowd in the University auditorium. Fidel Castro receives an honorary degree at the University. Castro receives a public welcome in Central Park, New York. Castro addresses the crowd. Back in Cuba: Executions by Castro's men begin. People gathered on the streets. Bill Muncey wins Speedboat Gold Cup in the U.S.A. Donald Campbell sets new water speed record in the UK.

American Power Boat Association (APBA)Gold Challenge Cup race on Lake Washington,Seattle,Washington, August 10th, 1957. Hydroplanes are seen traversing the 90 mile course in 30 mile heats at high speed. One hydroplane motionless in the water,after its engine quit. The winning boat is Miss Thriftway, driven by Bill Muncey, who is seen standing next to the large Gold Cup trophy. Change of scene to England, November 7, 1957, where a group of men stand on a pier next to the Bluebird II, jet-powered speedboat. Owner, Donald Malcolm Campbell, is seen getting into the boat. A man onshore sits at an electronic speed recording device. The Bluebird II, driven by Donald Campbell, is seen speeding across Coniston Water lake in Cumbria, England, where it achieved a new water speed record of 239 mph.

Cuban President Fulgenci Batista greets visiting officials as they enter the Presidential Palace in Havana. Armed soldiers guard the entrance way and an antiaircraft gun is seen on the sidewalk. Street scenes of armed conflict March 13, 1957, as a group of university students storms the Presidential Palace intent on executing dictator Fulgencio Batista. People scurrying for cover as armed police engage the attackers on downtown streets. Police armored personnel carrier sits in the street. A truck full of armed police reinforcements arrives. Ambulance drives on street. A policeman carries a wounded woman. Bullet holes in windows. A person killed in the conflict. Scene shifts to a rural area where a jeep drives along a dirt road past a revolutionary sentry. Several revolutionaries from Venuezela and other Latin American countries are seen along with Cubans, in the company of Fidel Castro, who converses with them. On July 30, 1957, a funeral is held in Santiago de Cuba, for revolutionary, Frank Pais, assassinated by police. People crowd the street as his coffin is carried out of the church.They shout "venganza," (revenge). Elsewhere, police stand over the bodies of killed revolutionaries. Scenes of people meeting and grieving. Revolutionaries in the bush country of Oriente province. They ride horses. Che Guevara seen with them working with arms and explosives. President John F Kennedy welcomed by people in Latin America.

To promote better relations with Latin America through his "Alliance For Progress," President and Mrs. Kennedy visited Puerto Rico, Mexico, Venezuela and Colombia. Starting at Puerto Rico,on December 15, 1961, a sign is seen bearing the President's image and reading 'Welcome" in Spanich. Next in a motorcade through a crowded street, a man stands in an open car throwing confetti, while President John F. Kennedy (JFK) follows in another open car, accompanied by Governor Munoz Marin of Puerto Rico. In change of scene (and country) on December 16th, JFK stands at a microphone in Venezuela, next to an interpreter making notes. He introduces his wife, as a Kennedy who doesn't need an interpreter, and asks her to say a few words. Mrs. Jacqueline Kennedy leaves her seat next to President Romulo Betancourt, and steps to the microphone, where she briefly addresses the gathering in Spanish. (Mrs. Betancourt occupies the seat next to JFK's empty one.) After Mrs. Kennedy's brief remarks, those in the gathering applaud, and President Kennedy appears delighted.
