Patrons enthusiastically greet a man walking into a bar in Tenderloin, downtown San Francisco, California. The bartender brings a round of drinks for customers. A male patron spikes the man’s drink while the man flirts with one of the women. The patrons drink before the man passes out. One of the women steals the man’s watch, while another takes his wallet and slips it into her garter. The man wakes up and realizes his wallet is missing. He blames the male patrons and begin a scuffle. The bartender and policeman subdue the man and the man is arrested. The women get up from their chairs to do a little dance in front of the bartender and the male patron. The man and the policeman return to the bar, with the policeman seem to have finally figured out the real criminals. One of the male patrons tries to attack the man but the policeman stops him.
Yachts compete in a great international yacht races. The light boat is seen marking the finish line with great struggle. As the American yacht Columbia crosses the line, followed closely by the yacht Shamrock, steam rises from the whistle of the light vessel.
Dramatized scenes: A pair of clerks play a game of cards in a broker’s office. Their boss, a broker, arrives in the office. The cards are thrown down in great haste and the clerks quickly pretend to be engaged in their work. Their boss looks over the mail and sits behind an adjacent screen to read the newspaper. A lady enters the office to speak with the boss. One of the clerks shows the lady the way to the broker. The broker and the lady flirt with one another and they began to make out. One of the clerks discovers the scene and calls the attention of his co-worker. The two clerks eavesdrop on the couple until one of the chairs is suddenly tipped over by the office boy and the clerks and screen fall upon the unsuspecting broker. The broker angrily throws off his coat and proceeds to clear out the office. One of the clerks becomes frightened and jumps through the window into the corridor while the other is unceremoniously fired through the door.
Dramatized scenes: A pretty cook pushes a child away as she mixes bread in a kitchen. A man named Jones comes in from a trip, carrying a suitcase. He lays down his suitcase on the floor. He and the cook talks. He takes off his suit and kisses the cook. The cook puts her arms around the man’s neck, leaving finger imprints of flour on his back. Jone’s wife walks into the scene, accusing her husband of cheating with the cook. Jones denies the allegation, making his wife scornfully points to the finger marks found on his back. The wife becomes angry, seizing the pan of flour and turns it upside down on the man’s head, spoiling his best Sunday clothes. The man escapes and the wife fires the cook through the door.
An old man shaves his face with a dull razor while seated at his shaving table. The man catches hold of the brush and hurriedly coats his face with the foaming soap and makes a second attempt at removing his beard. He wipes his cheeks. He scrapes and scrapes, making painful facial expressions as the razor grows duller with every stroke. The old man winces every time he draws the razor across his face.
Dramatized scenes: A well-dressed couple enter a fashionable café. The waiter assists the man and the woman to sit. The couple checks the restaurant menu, they make an order of boiled eggs and Welsh rarebit. The obliging waiter delivers their order. The couple break open their eggs, and two beautiful white chickens fly across the room. The diners then perform a similar trick with the Welsh rarebit just served. The man lifts the food cloche, and two beautiful white rabbits hop from the dish and are seen kicking and squirming as they are lifted to the floor.
