Lieutenant Willruth of 335 Squadron, 4th Fighter Group,8th Air Force, engages German Messerschmitt Bf-109 aircraft flying low over mountainous area in Germany. Seen via gun camera footage, from his North American P-51 Mustang airplane, gunfire hits the Bf-109 which starts smoking. At TC:00:18, the German pilot bails out. The aircraft goes out of control, catches fire and crashes. The gun camera continues to record, showing another encounter with a German fighter plane. As it is struck by gunfire, it rolls over and descends trailing white smoke. An explosive flash occurs and the German airplane free falls straight down into forest below, leaving a wide trail of white smoke. (World War II period).
