King George V and Queen Mary at the Coronation Durbar arena in Delhi, India, in 1911. They are seen under the royal canopy, surrounded by troops wearing White helmets, white gloves, and white puttees. Complete change of scene shows women on horse-drawn floats in a suffrage movement parade on 42nd street, East of 5th Avenue in New York City, circa 1912. A woman dressed as Columbia stands in the first float, wearing a banner with word "Suffrage" on it and some men supporters march in the parade. Crowds watch from the sidewalks. Uniformed policemen escort the marchers. Several women suffragists (sometimes referred to as suffragettes) ride in a second float, wearing various costumes, including those of 17th Century pilgrims and of the 18th Century revolutionary war era. The float displays an American flag and some other type, as well. An automobile festooned with flowers, follows behind. The final scene shifts to London, England, circa 1905, and shows women's suffrage leader, Emmeline Pankhurst, carrying a bouquet of flowers, as she is escorted by a gentleman, out of a professional office building. One sign on the building reads, "Goodale, Hobson, & MacHahon. (This refers to William Goodale, Alfred Allen Hobson, and Patrick Maurice MacMahon, Solicitors, 9, Essex Street, Strand London, England. That firm dissolved in 1907.)
American Boy Scouts stage a fire safety skit in Washington DC during a gathering of Boy Scouts
American Boy Scouts stage a skit to educate fellow Boy Scouts of America about prevention of forest fires. Irresponsible activity leading to forest fire is shown in the dramatized skit, staged on a field with a large group of Boy Scouts seated and watching (possibly some kind of Jamboree). The scouts demonstrate the hazard of a carelessly tossed cigarette. They also show an unattended fire spreading and consuming a tree completely. Sign boards read 'The Trial', and 'Guilty', as the offenders are "Sentenced to Be Educated' (sentencing done by Walter Irving McCoy, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the District of Columbia). Scouts take part in a Tug of War game. Sign reads 'Forest Demon Burned' and the "demon" figure in fabric is set on fire and hoisted into the air. Boy Scouts are seen on the Washington Monument grounds as they take an oath together. Boy Scout plays a trumpet. Sign board on the trumpet reads 'Fight Forest Fire'.

United Nations meets to organize military action for protection of South Korea from Communist North Korea. United States troops in Tokyo, Japan prepare to advance to Korea. U.S. Army forces are seen passing in review before General MacArthur and General Omar Bradley in Tokyo, Japan. Back in the United States, a B-29 bomber, "moth balled" by being entirely encased in "cocoon" plastic since after World War 2, is rolled onto an airfield. Air force personnel remove the heavy plastic from the body and tires of the B-29, revealing its World War 2 nose art name "Lucky 13" (which had been among B-29 aircraft of the 25th Air Service Group in World War II). Navy Vought F4U Corsair aircraft with folding wings are unloaded from giant containers in aircraft hangars. A group of the F4U aircraft lined up at an airfield. Military equipment being loaded onto waiting ships, and carried by soldiers at a warehouse area. Units of the 1st U.S. Marines answer the call, are seen piloting amphibious vehicles in the ocean and onto the dock landing ship USS Gunston Hall (LSD-5) . Canadian sailors are seen boarding ships and Candian Navy destroyers leave British Columbia for Korea. Women and children wave form dock. Destroyers underway in sea. White, African American, and Hispanic young men in the United States are seen standing in lines at a United States Army enlistment office, answering the call to serve as new recruits in the Army. A group of new recruits raise their right hands and take an oath of service. U.S. President Harry S Truman speaks to a meeting of the Reserve Officers Association meeting, indicating that the only reason for this action is to hopefully arrive at the peace in the world that was hoped for when the United Nations was created. He leaves and shakes hands with officers. At Security Council meeting of the United Nations in Lake Success, New York, the President of Council, Arne Sunde, of Norway, invites Korean Ambassador to join table. Ambassador Chang comes and sits. The United Kingdom representative presents resolution which the body votes on (United Nations Security Council Resolution 84). It is passed by 7 to 0 in favor. The U.S. is asked to designate a military commander for the United Nations forces. The Korean ambassador, Chang Myon, expresses gratitude to the UN Security Council.
Women who had formerly served prison terms for their suffragist activities, arrive in San Francisco on "Prison Special" train.
Twenty four suffragist women (sometimes called suffragettes) arrive in San Francisco, California, on their 3-week tour across the country during February, 1919, in a last-ditch effort to urge passage of the 19th amendment, providing voting rights for women, which was being held up in the U.S. Senate. The women advocating women's suffrage are seen stepping from a railroad train coach, wearing uniforms like they wore when imprisoned at the Occoquan Workhouse (Run by the District of Columbia, the Workhouse, in Laurel Hill, Virginia, was later called Lorton Reformatory. Over 150 women suffragists were eventually incarcerated there.) (Note: The Senate later passed the 19th amendment which was ratified on August 18, 1920.)
