A convoy of cars enters the grounds of Air Fouga aviation factory in Béziers, France. Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, emerges from the first car and greets French military officials awaiting him. French military formation stands across the street. Prince Philip is escorted on the tarmac of the company airfield where he looks at a twin engine high wing transport aircraft, a small helicopter, and the Fouga magister jet trainer. He talks with Fouga company officials. Prince Philip and his party are seated along with French military and civilian guests. They watch an air show in which the Fouga aircraft are demonstrated.

Groups of student pilots are briefed by instructors at a French Air Force training base in Marrakesh, Morocco. Wearing seat-pack parachutes, student pilots climb into the cockpits of North American T-6 aircraft, bearing French markings, as ground crews hook up auxiliary power units and turn over the aircraft engines. The T-6s taxi out to the active runway. The T-6s are seen taxiing back to their respective parking places on the airfield.

Fritz von Opel makes adjustments at the rear of the airplane and, assisted by several other men, moves the airplane along the launch ramp and back again. On the side of the plane is written: "Sander AK-1." Photographers take pictures. The first manned test of an Opel "ent" airplane is undertaken by the Research Institute of the RhonRossitten-Gesellschaft (RRG) under the direction of Fritz Stamer. In the first three trials the airplane fails to rise and simply skids along the ground. However, on the 4th try, it successfully flies off the launch rail in an extended high speed flight, for three-quarters of a mile in just under one minute. The successful flight is then shown in slow motion from two different camera angles.

As its fuel is exhausted, it levels off and begins to glide down to earth on its extended fin-wings. Tiling, his assistant Angela Buddenboehmer, and his mechanic Friedrich Kuhr, examine and pick up the recovered rocket as official observers gather around them. Tiling and his team pose, with the revovered rocket, for cameramen and reporters, Closeup of the rocket as Tiling touches the expended fuel cylinder. They then unfold fins and Tiling explains their function to reporters. Tiling and his team carefully raise another rocket on its launch frame at a different location, on sand dunes.Angela Buddenboehmer sits on the sand with the launch control as Tiling gives her the signal to close the circuit. The rocket fires and rises rapidly until its fuel burns out, when it begins to glide down on its wings.
