Their white tails identify them as belonging to the 323rd Bombardment Group known as the White Tails. They are also known as Wood's Rocket Raiders, referring to their Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Wilson R. Wood.

He is surrounded by an enthusiastic crowd of local citizens. Goering gets into an open car, and standing, salutes the crowd, who return his salute. Children try to run after his car, as it pulls away.
