Indian Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on a goodwill visit to Tibet. He descends from a plane as it lands at the 'Roof of the World'. He is received by military officers. A traditional welcome by the 'lamas' and people of Tibet, including then 14 year old Tenzin Gyatso, the 14th Dalai Lama. They garland the Prime Minister. Nehru, officers and other dignitaries climb uphill on horses. A crowd gathered to greet the PM. Monks praying. Traditional puppets on display. Pandit Nehru presents a memento to the Dalai Lama. He addresses the gathering including children. He boards his plane and it takes off.
