Fore and after Peak assembly of a Liberty ship under construction at shipyards in California during World War II. Work begins with the bent fore and aft steel frames, Workers then assemble the peaks around the frames, using scaffolding and wooden ramps for access. Welders at work on these sectionsof the ship. Crane lifts partially assembled section. (Note: May include scenes from Kaiser Shipyard in Richmond, California as well as Hunters Point Naval Shipyard in San Francisco.)
