Two British soldiers enter a tunnel leading to a German observation post on the other side of a road in part of France, recaptured from the Germans, during World War One. A British soldier looks at the hood (bonnet) of a car parked in the middle of the road. The two soldiers, exploring the German tunnel, emerge from a hatch in the ground on the opposite side of the road. One climbs steel steps installed in a nearby tree, which is the observation post.
