U.S. Navy's new aircraft carrier USS Independence (CV-62) starts her first sea trial down New York's East River. Tugboat workers help the aircraft carrier out of the Brooklyn Navy Yard and down the river. The carrier clears the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges by tilting its hinged mast.
