American infantry and horse-drawn artillery move along a road in World War 1. U.S. troops moving quietly through serpentine trenches at the front during final phases of World War 1. "Linga, DCI, Rincalzi" stenciled on wood sign near trenches. The area is battle-scarred, but no hostilities are in progess. Another scene shows American troops in a deep trench behind barbed wire, with rifles and fixed bayonets at the ready. Scene shifts to German and Turkish prisoners of war being escorted by American soldiers, past destroyed buildings and rubble. Several prisoners wheel wounded comrade on a gurney.
