Grumman-built LEM (Lunar Excursion Module 1 or LM-1), a space vehicle for carrying astronauts onto the surface of the moon in the United States. Technicians work on the "LEM" as part of NASA Apollo program. The space car is being readied for shipment to NASA at Cape Kennedy. (Shown here is LM-1, which was the first of several excursion modules tested in advance of the actual use of the LEM for the manned landing on the moon with Apollo 11 in 1969.)
