Fuel drum salvage operation by U.S. Navy CBs (Construction Battalions) after the capture of Guam, Mariana Islands during World War II. Large piles of 50 gallon drums. CBs cut the tops of the drums and weld the drums together to form pipelines. A pipeline made of drums is laid into a deep ditch and welding of large sections is completed.
