U.S. Army tanks of the 1st. Platoon, A Company, 710th Tank Battalion, in action with Marines of the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, at Horseshoe Valley in Peleliu Island, Palau during World War II. The area is a virtual no man's land. Tanks fire flamethrowers at Japanese positions. Marine infantry rushes to occupy a trench in the valley. Marines set up and fire a 155mm gun at fortified Japanese positions in the hills and cliffs.
