Forests being converted to lumber industry in Northern forests of the United States. Owners mark placed on each log. Workers sort the logs with sticks as they float into a storage pond. A long chain with sharp hooks pulls the logs up to the saw. These logs are then fastened on a carriage that moves against revolving band saw. The gangsaw cuts the logs into various strips.
