A film about Allied campaign against the Japanese in the Pacific, at Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands during World War II. Colonel Thomas of the United States Marine Corps briefs U.S. Marines about an operational plan. The Marines loaded in jeeps and command cars advance inland. They move across a jungle and then onto a hilltop ridge that later was named "Blood Ridge" due to fierce fighting there. A man looks through a sighting instrument at an observation post. Gun emplacements and foxholes are established. A Marine looks at a picture of an American girl that he has at his campsite. U.S. Marines fire a 105 mm gun. An aircraft spotter looks through a sighting instrument and spots Japanese aircraft in flight. Japanese bombers in flight. Antiaircraft guns are fired by American forces. Japanese airplane is hit. The airplane plunges toward the ground with smoke streaming behind it and the airplane crashes. Machine guns being fired at the Japanese aircraft.
