Narrator describes different exercises that can be used to practice the long thrust bayonet attack and withdrawal. Two trainees practicing the long thrust and withdrawal while facing each other, passing each other and then turning around to repeat the exercise. A large group of soldiers practicing the attack on straw dummies hung from posts in a large field, first closeup and then from several paces away. The trainees attack and then move past the dummy to continue as they would in a real combat scenario. Shots of incorrect attacks are shown while the narrator discusses the mistakes of the trainees. Finally, a correct attack is shown from a side and front view while the narrator describes it.
