Montage of German rocketry scenes from 1930s through World War II. Nazi surrender. Atomic bomb. Japanese surrender
German rocket pioneer, Gerhard Zucker, attempting to develop postal rockets in the 1930s. Location is Wadden Sea off Cuxhaven, on April 9, 1933, where Zucker follows Nazi Sturmabteilung (also called SA or Stormtroopers) carrying the mail rocket across wet sands. The rocket is set up on a launch stand. Zucker and an assistant ignite the 8 side rockets and the mail rocket takes off. It noses up and loops over backwards, falling to the sand. German Stormtroopers lift up the damaged device. Next, is seen a later, more modern, rocket trial ending in failure. Two German engineers display a model similar to the pulse-jet-powered "buzz bomb" (V-1) employed by the Nazis in World War 2. A brief glimpse of similar American machine on sand flat, as narrator states German acknowledgement of knowledge gleaned from Dr. Robert Goddard's work. Film opens showing Adolf Hitler, in uniform, on the balcony of his new Reichs Chancellery on Wilhelmplatz (completed in 1939). He is accompanied by Deputy Fuhrer, Rudolf Hess and Schutzstaffel Leader, Julius Schrek. Supporters crowd the square and cheer them. Scene shifts to a nighttime rally, and then to Closeup of Hermann Goering on a balcony with others (unidentified). Glimpse of a Schutzstaffel brass band marching in torchlight parade and Hitler saluting from a balcony. Schutzstaffel assembled in Wilhelmplatz (77 Wilhelmstraße, 10117 Berlin, Germany). Excerpts of testimony by United States Under Secretary of State, George S. Messersmith, to the HUAC (House Un-American Activities Committee) in Washington DC. Ambassador Messersmith raises his hand and is sworn in, and then seated beside his legal counsel, Norman M. Littell. Ambassador Messersmith gives testimony about Hans Eisler and Dorothy Thompson related to his own time in Berlin Germany in the 1930s on behalf of the U.S. State Department. He references his work with U.S. diplomat Sumner Welles. He says that he read the Eisler file to refresh his memory. He says that although they were not involved in the war at the time the responsibility on the State Department had increased. He talks about a case related to columnist Miss Thompson. He looks into his papers He talks about the time when he was posted in Berlin and Austria and she made a number of visits. He laughs. He tells about officers who showed prejudice in examining visa papers.

A 1940 movie entitled "Weltraum Schiff I Startet Eine Technische Fantasie" (Space Ship I launches a technical fantasy). Imaginary view of moon shining over Lake Constance in Friedrichshafen in the future. Views of a huge hangar and industrial complex with a rocket on a launch pad. A large crowd is gathered and listens to a technician speak about a moon rocket.project. Supposedly, the director of the Friedrichshafen airship shipyard speaks to some reporters about aircraft, flying, rocketry, and space travel, while speaking about manned rocket flight to the moon. He answers questions from members of the press corps. Animated pictures show critical distance for escaping earth's gravity and other aspects of a moon flight. Posters of various German Dornier airplanes line the briefing room, including: a circa 1937 Dornier Do 17; Dornier Do 24 3-engined flying boat; Do-X 6-engined flying boat; Dornier Do J II Wal; Dornier Do-19 aircraft; Dornier Do-18 push-pull twin engine flying boat, and the mammoth Do-X twelve-engine flying boat with its date, 1929, stenciled on the bottom of its left wing. From this point on, the narrator continues speaking but the images are of actual applications of rocketry to land vehicles and aircraft.
