Thousands of Communists enter Berlin during Weimar Republic era in Germany.
Thousands of Communists and sympathizers are seen streaming into Berlin through the Brandenburg Gate or Brandenburger Tor (Pariser Platz, 10117 Berlin, Germany). They walk slowly. There appears to be a large contingent of Freikorps in light military style uniforms marching with banners through the center of the crowd. In view from above this, contingent is seen more clearly as it marches along carrying Posters. The next scene shows the crowd with no coherent groups evident. Later, in a scene showing some people climbing atop a monument, Freikorps members are clearly mingled with others in the crowd. People are seen atop the Brandenburg Gate.

German fire fighters in Berlin, Germany on Museum Island. On the Lustgarten parade area of Museum Island (Museumsinsel) the firemen demonstrate fire fighting techniques and equipment outside the Old Museum building (Altes Museum) and the Berlin Cathedral (Berliner Dom). Fire brigade trucks move out from positions outside the Old Museum, toward the Berlin Cathedral. They stop in front of the Cathedral and in synchronized fashion they raise the ladders high into the air. A fireman operates a crank to turn on water, while standing in a small boat. Fire fighters standing in a line with hoses direct a flood of water from combine hoses southward from the Old Museum, high into the air, raining down into the Lustgarten in front of the Berlin Cathedral. Includes German narration and ambient background sound from the scene.

Holiday vendors and shop keepers in Berlin selling wares and gifts to shoppers at Christmas time, 1919. A man buys a wooden clapping toy from a boy street vendor. A fruit vendor sells fruits from his wooden cart. Germans lined up to buy Christmas trees from a vendor beside a public square area. Pedestrians fill the sidewalks, passing by tents with holiday vendors, as seen from elevated position in a moving vehicle traveling on a main street in Berlin. Happy children and adults seen shopping and walking in the crowd. Children and adults gather at a store window that sells toys, and watch a vendor showing a toy zeppelin that flies back and forth, and a wind-up, mechanical car toy.
Jane Addams, Alice Hamilton, and Aletta Jacobs in Berlin, during World War I
Three influential women in the early 20th century women's movements and suffrage are seen walking in front of the Brandenburg Gate, in Berlin, during World War 1. On the left is American, Jane Addams, co-founder of Hull House, in Chicago, and President of the newly formed Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF). In the middle is Alice Hamilton. She was a close associate of Addams in the Hull House project, and, in 1919, became the first woman professor at Harvard University. The third woman is Dutch pacifist, feminist and suffragist (sometimes called a suffragette) Aletta Jacobs, who was also involved with founding of the WILPF. Germans celebrate formation of the Weimar Republic after World War 1. Soldiers parade as spectators watch. Their new President, Friedrich Ebert, is escorted by a Berlin Police officer, and followed by two statesmen, as he prepares to address the crowd at the Lustgarten. They walk past the Berlin Cathedral, where a woman speaker stands, slightly above the crowd, next to a large effigy of a woman. The President and statesmen tip their hats as they are saluted by a military officer. Army troops are assembled in formation. Cavalry on horseback parade, as spectators watch from the park. Scene shifts to President Ebert delivering remarks to assembled soldiers and spectators.
