A training film titled 'Gas and Gas Mask' shows how lethal gas is disseminated from gas cylinders and artillery shells in Europe by Germany during World War 1. German soldiers wearing gas masks move out from a trench through a screen of smoke or gas.The soldiers in prone positions advance through poisonous gas smoke and carry square shields. American forces demonstrate use of liquid fire (flame thrower) like that used by German troops to spray liquid fire in the trenches. Condensed gas in a cylinder. The cylinder lying on the ground in a horizontal position. A U.S. Army soldier wearing a gas mask opens the knob of the cylinder. The gas comes out. A gas cloud is formed and moves in the direction of the wind. A soldier holds a German gas shell. A large number of gas shells are exploded. A U.S. soldier demonstrates two different forms of gas masks. The first is a basic scarf which holds a small pad of cotton soaked in soda solution. He puts on the scarf mask. Next he puts on a more advanced "Gas helmet" (early gas mask).

Final steps in munitions manufacture at factory in Germany during World War I
Women perform final calibration and hand finishing of munitions casings. Army representatives perform inspections. A woman reams final holes for detonators (fuzes) in casing noses. Munitions are measured and passed through final set of acceptance guages, including a barrel gauge. Women stamp dates and other information on the casings with hammers and dies. The Casings are then rolled across a paint printer and moved by conveyor to shipping area.

A crowd of German civilians is seen gathered in the Lustgarten. But the scene shifts suddenly to the Berlin Deutsches Stadion (Deutsches Stadion, Olympischer Platz 3, 14053 Berlin) in the Grunewald Racecourse. Men in old-fashioned traditional military uniforms march into the stadium, carrying flags of the various German States. They parade around the perimeter of the stadium. Flag of the German Weimar Republic flies over the principal building in the stands. The flag bearers on the field lower their flags, in salute. Next, Field Marshal Paul von Hindenburg and his deputy, General Erich Ludendorff, enter the field, leading several military officers, together with a civilian, carrying a sign reading: "I.G.I.D." They are followed by a long line of civilians. Spectators are on their feet in the stands where some men wave their hats and some women wave handkerchiefs. (World War I; World War 1; WWI; WW1)

United States Army forces in a patrol boat in the Rhine river at Deutsches Eck or the "German Corner" in Koblenz where the Moselle joins the Rhine. The boat approaches and slowly views a paddle wheel steamboat named Preussen that is flying the American flag and has United States soldiers aboard. The Preussen is docked at Deutsches Eck. Slow pan of the Preussen shows rescue boats and crew aboard. Crew show machine guns setup on the Preussen paddle ship. As boat slowly pulls away there is a view of the equestrian statue of German Emperor William I rising in background behind the moored Preussen. Next view shows same boat on Rhine and view of Fortress Ehrenbreitstein rising up from dock area. Railroad train visible near dock below Fortress Ehrenbreitstein. View changes to a group of American, French and German soldiers on land. A United States soldier lights up cigarette for a German soldier and he shows an insignia on his cap to the German soldier. The German Army soldier looks at the cap, turns and runs away with two fellow German soldiers following. The two remaining American soldiers and one French soldier stand and laugh.
