Members of UAW Ford Local 600 voting on the first Union contract with Ford Motor Company
Opening scene shows a virtual tent city set up to facilitate voting by numerous elements of Ford United Auto Workers Union 600. Camera pans over the scene where buses are transporting members. It shows the headquarters building with sign reading: "Ford Local No. 600." Men are lined up to vote at tents marked according to Ward and District. They are voting on the question of ratifying the first UAW contract with Ford Motor Company that was signed June 20, 1941. A bus pulls up to a curb. It contains signs reading "Ride Free" and "Vote Yes."

Peaceful scene of harbor at Kuwait on Persian Gulf, during time of British administration, in 1942. Several small sailboats are in the water near a wharf. The sun is shining. Scene shifts to the Brazilian Freighter, SS Ozorio (aka OSORIO) entering the harbor. Camera focuses on the Ozorio, underway. (Note: On June 8, 1941, The SS Ozorio, picked up survivors from the Robin Moor, first U.S. ship to go down in World War II. Later, the Ozorio, herself, was torpedoed and sunk by a German submarine, on September 27, 1942.)

A Colonel thanks Andrews Sisters on behalf of the Music Section of the Special Services Division for recording the three discs. Patricia Marie, Maxene Angelyn and Laverne Sophie record a song named 'Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy'. Musicians check instruments during the recording. Studio staff work on the pressing of the phonograph record. (Note: Although "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" was recorded commercially for Decca Records on January 2, 1941, this filmed V-Disc recording session took place over three years later on September 25, 1944.)

Scottish scientist Sir Alexander Fleming isolates antibiotic substance penicillin from the fungus at St Mary's Hospital in London, United Kingdom. A petri dish with penicillin. Articles on bacteriology, immunology and chemotherapy are published. Pharmacologist Howard Walter Florey extracts penicillin at Oxford University. In June 1941, tiny flask of penicillin brought to the United States. Chemists work and develop penicillin in refined form. Penicillin Production Factory. Penicillin is built in many forms. Penicillin is made in huge fermentation tanks and passed through many machines for purifying and refining. Quantities of penicillin reduced in gallons to recover it. It is concentrated in the laboratory. Water contained penicillin, evaporated at laboratory. Penicillin transferred to sterilized vials and packed in boxes. Penicillin prepared for use.
