The expedition was completed by 2 of the 5 original Douglas World Cruiser aircraft, namely: the "Chicago," crewed by Lt. Lowell Smith and Lt. Leslie Arnold; and the "New Orleans," crewed by Lt. Erik Nelson and Lt. Jack Harding. They are seen being congratulated by their Expedition Commander, Major Frederick F. Martin at the completion of the mission, on September 28, 1924, in Seattle, Washington.

Larry McKibben, Iowa representative for the Selective Service Youth Advisory Committee, interrupts the December 1969 draft lottery to read a statement. He claims his statement is written by 14 youth members protesting the removal of the Michigan and Alaska youth delegates after their refusal to draw birth dates for the lottery. The draft lottery continues after the statement is read.

At the start of an air show in Spokane, Washington, during World War 2, a U.S..Army Air Force Colonel introduces Brigadier General James G. Parker, Commanding General of the 4th Air Force, headquartered in San Francisco. General Parker says a few words of greeting. People applaud. The Colonel then introduces Air Force Brigadier General Dale V. Gaffney, Commanding General of the Alaska Wing, Air Transport Command. He also says a few words. Then, (sound only) the Colonel introduces a Major, from Spokane, who had survived the Bataan Death March and also successfully escaped from a Japanese prison camp.
