Demonstration of Ford Model T successfully driving in challenging conditions
Sequence showing a 1922 Ford Model T automobile being driven successfully in difficult terrain. The car approaches and crosses a slightly elevated railroad crossing at high speed. It is then seen negotiating various barriers and impediments, including driving down steep sandy embankments over a severely rutted dirt road. At the end of the arduous course, the car's license plate is seen bent and tilted, but no damage is evident to the car itself.

Turkish Nationalists on a ship docked at Samsun, Anatolia (Turkey). Large Turkish flags are displayed on the ship, and on the dock. Officials pose on the gangplank. Turkish irregulars disembark , carrying large sacks of belongings. A Turkish officer is seen carrying a sidearm. But no other weapons are seen. Scene shifts to a procession through the war ravaged city during the period of the Turkish War of Independence and the end of the Greco-Turkish War. The procession is led by officials riding in horse-drawn carriages. Numerous Turkish flags are carried in the procession. The scene shifts, again, to destroyed buildings, including the Governor's office building. Other destruction is seen, resulting from earlier bombardment by the U.S. and Greek warships. (Note: Naval bombardment of virtually undefended Samsun was carried out by the following, on June 7, 1922: American warships:USS Sands (DD-243); USS McFarland (DD-237); USS Sturtevant (DD-240); Greek warships: Cruiser, Georgios Averof; Destroyer, Nazos; Battleship, Kilkis; Destroyer,Leon; plus several other Greek Cruisers and minesweepers.)

The occupation plan for northern landing forces is to occupy and defend the North Carillon group of islands in three phases. The first phase is 'how hour dog day'. Jasper, Ivan, Albert and Allen Islands are included in the phase. Phase II is 'William hour dog plus one day'. Burlesque, Camouflage and Abraham Islands are included in the phase. Operations of phase III include organization of defenses on Burlesque and Camouflage Islands. Capture of the remaining islands is also included in this phase. The Arlington and the Hollis Islands are to be captured. Officers discuss. Smoke rises from naval guns fire. Aerial view of the target area. A ship convoy bombs the main parts of the atoll.
