German advance to Don River in Soviet Union during 1942 summer offensive in World War II

Smoke rising from fire burning on West bank of the Don River in Russia. Camera pans down to river and some German soldiers crossing on what appears to be partly a pontoon bridge and partly remnants of a damaged one.
