United States aircraft lands on United States Ship Langley while its is underway in the Pacific off the coast of California.

United States ship Langley underway as men on the deck signal flags. Men milling about and talking on the flight deck. A man talks to a pilot on the deck. Naval officers on the deck as they look seawards. Men along the edge of the aircraft carrier as a Vought VE-7SF aircraft comes in for landing. The aircraft floats with tail hook visible and then when the hook catches, the Aircraft noses over into the deck. Sailors run to assist the pilot and aircraft. Another Vought VE-7SF comes in for a landing. It appears successful, but at last moment, it too noses over, and then settles back in normal position. A third VE-7SF comes in for landing and spins sideways as the hook catches. Sailors run to assist the pilot.

United States ship Langley (CV-1) underway as a United States Aeromarine 39-B aircraft crashes on the deck. At end of final approach, the airplane rolls to the right and lower right wing strikes the leading edge of the flight deck and breaks off. The aircraft ends nosed over and severely damaged. A Douglas DT-2 with pontoons (float plane) is catapulted from the carrier. Sailors sit beside the flight deck of the USS Langley.
