A plane lands on a grassy field in Cincinnati, Ohio. Alex Brun an aviator and inventor, exits the airplane and then takes out a small vehicle from inside the plane that resembles a small motor scooter or moped. He drives it to the nearby town where he stops at a gasoline or petrol station to buy a small cup full of fuel for his motorize bike. Alex Brun invented the vehicle to be carried in an airplane and used to reach nearby towns in case of a forced landing.
Veterans of World War I in Zanesville, Ohio, gather to begin their Bonus March towards Washington D.C. to lay their demands before Congress. At night, Bonus Marchers gather at a camp site to obtain food from a chow line and then are seen shaving and washing their faces. Daylight, a convoy of Bonus Army trucks are seen on highway headed towards Washington. One truck displays a sign reading, "Veterans Bonus March On To Washington." The convoy passes a Gulf station on a street with trolley tracks visible...possibly MacArthur Blvd. in Washington, D.C..
At the Republican National Convention held in Cleveland in Ohio, Former U.S. President Herbert Hoover speaks to his fellow republicans. He stresses that the source of economic security is freedom in all forms, and freedom is the source of moral and spiritual progress. He decries liberalism. He states that fundamental American liberties are at stake. The NBC, MBS, and CBS networks have microphones at the lectern to broadcast his speech. RNC Chairman John Hamilton approaches Hoover and the podium at the end of his speech. 1936.
Non rigid blimp, L-3, a Goodyear Company manufactured patrol airship for the United States Navy is seen as it takes off from Wingfoot Lake docks in Ohio. Mr. Paul Litchfield, Chairman of the Board at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company is seen speaking at a microphone and introducing E. J. Thomas, President of Goodyear, addressing workers to ask for their fullest loyalty.
A newsreel titled " Child horseman puts pony over record jumps," shows a 9-year old award-winning boy equestrian, with his champion pony, in Wilmington, Ohio. He and his pony demonstrate their skills for the newsreel camera. First he is seen jumping his pony over a high post and rail obstacle. Next he jumps a double wide obstacle, and then, an extremely high single post and rail. Following that. the boy takes his pony over a triple wide post and rail jump. The next jumping challenge is aother horse being held within confines of a post and rail, by a man. The boy and his pony easily clear the standing horse. Closeup of the boy repeating his jump over the horse. Final scenes show him astride his pony, holding several trophies he'd won for his equestrian skills. Closeup of his champion pony, displaying numerous ribbons won in jumping competitions.

Eleven year old Joe Lunn of Columbus, Georgia wins the final of the junior speed classic in Soap Box Derby in Akron in Ohio. Huge crowd cheers him.
