U.S. President Dwight D. Eisenhower and the First Lady of the United States, Mamie Geneva Doud Eisenhower meet veterans in the White House gardens in Washington DC. The President and Mrs. Eisenhower meet the sick and disabled men and women of the armed forces. Veterans come to the White House lawns on crutches and wheel chairs. Vice President Richard Nixon and his wife, U.S. Army General Omar Bradley and other government dignitaries meet the veterans. The veterans enjoy the White House hospitality and eat.
